Are Your Love Handles Getting in the Way?


Love handles are not sign of age or happiness as many were taught growing up. They are, in fact, a sign of weakness; a weakness that our society is not doing anything about. Our grocery stores are stuffed full with processed foods and sugar, both of which are the greatest cause to this excess belly fat.

Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to lose these unwanted additions. It is not something you can do over night and typically not even in a couple of weeks. Losing excess fat takes time, dedication, and a bit of work. But, if you can wrap you mind around the fact that you are worth the right decisions and time then you will have no problem gaining way towards that six pack hidden under all of that excess.

Eating right and exercise are the two things that you need to do in order to get that lean physique that you have dreamt of. When it comes to eating, late night snacking and junk food are a great weakness in our current society. The options we have in the junk food section are so wide it is nearly impossible to resist. Then comes the late night snacking. For many, there is nothing like sitting down for a late night snack before bed after a long, stressful day. If you want to lose that excess stomach fat, both of these need to be eliminated from your life.

Losing this excess fat is one thing, but keeping it off is another. Eating a diet full of foods like fruits and vegetables is the only way that you can truly keep this fat off. This does not mean you need to become a vegetarian, quite far from that in fact. Your body needs protein, carbohydrates, and fat in order to thrive, so on top of the fruits and veggies, add some low-fat dairy products, lean meats, and even some nuts and grains and you will have a well-balanced diet that will help you lose fat and keep it off.

On top of a healthy diet you should also workout. Many people argue this statement with the common "I don't have time to work out", but you don't need that much time, nor do you even need a gym membership to participate in a proper exercise routine. A little bit of cardio and a lot of strength training exercise is exactly what the doctor prescribed. If you can simply find 15-20 a day, a minimum of 3 days a week and you will be on the right track.

So, rather than letting your loved ones hold onto your love handles, let them hold you. Start today with a healthy diet and a solid workout routine and there will be more of you to hold onto. Not only will your body no longer be hidden by fat, but you will feel better too. You will have more energy for the things and people you love along with more confidence to walk with your head held high.
